Mayor Sayso (Character)
Mayor Sayso is a major character in U.B. Funkeys, acting as the player's guide as they first enter Funkeystown. He can be seen working at the information center at the station. Mayor Sayso is a playable character that you can buy and use in your game, along with Master Lox and the Henchmen.
Appearance
Mayor Sayso is a blue-skinned Funkey with small, beady eyes high on his face. He has small white glasses perched where his nose would be. Mayor Sayso wears his gray hair in a distinctive, overgrown hairstyle, with flowing eyebrows and a massive beard. Mayor Sayso wears a red button-up and a black vest. He holds a red cane capped with the shape of a Funkey's head, which is revealed not to be a walking stick- but rather a magic staff- in a Quest.
In-game
Sayso was born and raised in Paradox Green, where he lived with his brother, the esteemed Dr. Tinker. At some point, Sayso was elected as mayor of Funkeystown. After The Great Disaster, Sayso became the head of F.A.R.T., the resistance against Master Lox's fascist regime.
When U.B. first arrives in Funkeystown, Sayso greets them and introduces them to the regions of Terrapinia. He then guides U.B. in their adventure through Funkeystown, Magma Gorge, Kelpy Basin, and Laputta Station. At every step, he congratulates U.B. for his successes, and narrates what happens each time a development in the story occurs. Mayor Sayso continues to appear in cutscenes to announce the opening of new Portals and greet Adventure Pack characters; when he is the one being played as, Mayor Sayso remarks that he's begun talking to himself and forgetting where he was going on account of the stress of manning Funkeystown.
He appears in a help desk in Funkeystown, where he offers advice and guidance to the player. In addition, he plays a small role in one of the game's Quests, and rewards a special Gem alongside 10,000 Coins when said Quest is completed.
In the second Wendy's Disc story, Mayor Sayso overhears U.B. talking to Marshall, realizing that the child is feeling unhappy about their lack of color or style. Mayor Sayso attempts to make U.B. think like Dr. Tinker in an attempt to help out, but U.B. takes this too literally, and returns to him in Master Lox's cloak. Mayor Sayso elaborates as to what he meant, claiming that regardless of clothes or color, all Funkeys are special and unique inside, and many Funkeys probably want to look like U.B. too. This helps U.B. overcome the gloomy mood they were in, though ultimately U.B. still ends up wearing a hat.
