Pineapple King (Character)
The Pineapple King is the main antagonist of the Funkiki Island zone.
Appearance
The Pineapple King is a Funkiki Native, and thus shares their stocky yellow body style. They share the same skirt as Natives, but lack their face paint. Instead, the Pineapple King has a giant tiki hat adorned with red, dark red, orange, yellow, and white feathers.
Story
Warning: Spoilers are ahead!
The Pineapple King, before the events of the game, was appointed as the leader of the Funkiki Natives. Fishing up a pineapple during his coronation, the King gained his title as a result. During the Great Disaster, the Funkiki Island portal's Gem somehow found its way into the island's volcano, wholly intact.
The magic of the Gem caused the Volcano to become active and unpredictable. In an effort to appease the culture's volcano god, the Pineapple King secluded himself and his tribe behind a gate, and sent out his people to steal Coins from touring Funkeys, spilling the stolen gold into the volcano as an offering. When the Gem was discovered by U.B. and Jerry Pearl, it was retrieved, soothing the volcano and removing the King's need to sacrifice Coins to the volcano's mouth. He remains peaceful afterwards.
In-game
The Pineapple King remains idle in his outpost, which can only be reached by finding the coconuts hidden around the map, reached with the items claimed from Funkiki's game rooms. The Pineapple King initially demands a golden pineapple as an offering to allow U.B. into the Native's village; after viewing this cutscene, a golden pineapple can be claimed from coconut trees around the map, and showing it to the king ends the story.
