Portal

A Portal is a device that allows travel between the distant regions of Terrapinia.

Description

The portal system was developed by the great Dr. Tinker to link and unify the tribes of Funkeys scattered across Terrapinia. They were powered by four gems, allowing access to any area linked by the system, with no restrictions on who could enter which portal. After the Great Disaster, the portal system was greatly damaged. When Master Lox appeared, he locked the portals, restricting access to only those Funkeys native to each region.

There are portals to each realm except for the Hidden Realm, which is only accessible by dirigible, and the Royalton Racing Complex and its grandstands, which are accessible through a gate in Funkeystown. All portals are restricted to each zone's native tribes except for Funkeystown.

The In-Between

The In-Between is the region between two points on the portal system. It was discovered by Angus during one of his expeditions, and he has set up his lab there.

During his experiments, Angus discovered that whenever a Funkey enters a portal, they leave some of their essence behind in the In-Between. This residue is formed into a Funkey Familiar that grants its wielder the properties of its original Funkey.

Broken Portals

In some locations across Terrapinia, there are broken portals. These portals have no connected location and cannot be used by any Funkey. Because of this, they cannot be overwritten by Portal Jammers.
